Dr Neo Mei Lin’s big dream is to build up marine conservation awareness in Singapore and elsewhere through science communication – and is now an avid champion for marine conservation, education & outreach, especially for young people.

She is a Bold + Brilliant young woman scientist 👩🏻‍🔬 and has accolades to prove it, including:
– World Future Foundation PhD Prize, 2014
– L’Oréal For Women in Science National Fellowship, 2015
– NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award, 2017
– Singapore Youth Awards (SYA) winner, 2019.

Not only that, but Mei Lin was selected as the only Singaporean TED Fellow for the Class of 2017, and gave her TED talk in Vancouver, Canada in April of 2017!

Nazhath Faheema is today’s featured TEDxSingaporeWomen speaker!

If there’s something the world needs more of, it’s peace. Nazhath is committed to driving initiatives that do just that. In particular, those that foster peacekeeping cultures at homes and workplaces – focused on racial and religious diversity. A member of the Muslim Youth Peace Ambassadors of Singapore, her efforts even got the attention of Prince Harry during his recent visit to Singapore.

Her previous TEDxWomen talk – featured here – insightfully shared why a better understanding of diversity is critical in reducing extremism, and we’re all looking forward to hearing what progress this Bold + Brilliant woman has been making with her initiatives since then.
